HST-1062 - History of African Americans Since 1877 (3)

Students survey the central place of African Americans to the cultural, economic, political, and social developments in U.S. history from the Reconstruction Era to today. Primarily lecture based, the course incorporates multiple pedagogical methodologies including readings (textbook, supplemental, and primary documents), collaborative exercises, videos, class discussions, and various evaluative measures (exams, quizzes, and paper assignments). The course requires regular and consistent attendance, allocation of considerable outside classroom time to complete readings, written assignments, and study. Students who have completed HST 1060 cannot receive credit for HST 1062.
