This associate of arts program option** is designed for part- and full-time students with a specific interest in one of two concentrations: 1) music performance, or 2) musical studies (music theory, music history, composition, or education). This option prepares students for a specific concentration at a four-year Maryland state college or university. Students are encouraged to consult with the coordinator of music for the appropriate level of private instruction, ensemble, and coursework for transfer.

The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer from other institutions to this program is 45.

About Private Instruction and Ensembles:

All students in the music program option must register for a music ensemble each semester. Students in the performance concentration must register for two semesters of private instruction. Additional lessons or ensembles may count as electives.
