Information Processing Certificate

Students completing this certificate are prepared to assume a variety of positions in an automated office setting. The program recognizes the increasingly important role of the microcomputer in modern business and is designed to assist students develop skills in the use of microcomputer applications for word/information processing, recordkeeping and database development. It is expected that students entering the program will be able to type 35 words per minute or will complete OFT-1010 - Keyboarding and Document Processng (3) , in addition to other required courses. Instruction in selected OFT courses is individualized. In addition to scheduled class hours, students develop skills in a supervised laboratory.

Cooperative education is available in this program.

The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer from other institutions to this program is 15.
