SPA-1053 - Cultures of Spain (H, C) (3) In this course, students study the rich and diverse Spanish culture and civilization. The culture of Spain is based on a variety of influences, both past and present. Topics for reading and discussion may include history; literature; art; architecture; cinema and popular culture; geography and other languages and dialects; religion; holidays, sports; cuisine; economics, politics and other cultural manifestations that influence the identities in contemporary Spanish society. This course is taught in English; no knowledge of Spanish is required. This course satisfies the General Education Humanities requirement and the Core Competency for Cultural and Global Awareness.
