HPM-2210 - Marketing in the Hospitality Industry* (3) Prerequisite: ENG 1010 This course takes a practical perspective in introducing students to the marketing of hotels, restaurants, and clubs. The marketing functions and the delivery systems for hospitality services are examined. Explores marketing as a total competitive effort of the hospitality firm emphasizing the importance of internal service. Includes human factors of the market, product and market analysis, competitive pricing and methods of approaching the market, with focus on positioning and selling the intangible product. Case studies, interactive methods, and practical application will be used.
