PHL-1030 - Introduction to Religion* (3)

Prerequisite: RDG 0800  
Students examine world religious traditions in philosophical, historical, social, and cultural context, identifying and comparing the variety of global religious practice and expression.  Students study Western and Eastern religions, including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism, as well as native American and African religious traditions.  Students also consider the perspsectives and place of women in religious belief systems, and the evolving role of religion in contemporary life. This course satisfies the General Education Humanities requirement and the Core Competency for Cultural and Global Awareness.
