BIO-2800 - Human Pathophysiology* (3) Prerequisite: Take BIO-1040 and BIO-1040L or BIO-2170 and BIO-2180 This course covers the physiology of various human diseases, such as various cancers and disorders. Topics include inflammation and healing, diseases and disorders of the immune, nervous, endocrine, reproductive, hematologic, cardiovascular, lymphatic, pulmonary, urologic, digestive, musculoskeletal, and integumentary systems.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Explain the basic concepts and terminology associated with disease processes and how environmental factors impact disease.
CO2 - Discuss the role of defensive mechanisms in preventing disease, controlling infection, and healing a tissue after injury.
CO3 - Identify various integumentary, musculoskeletal, blood, lymphatic, cardiovascular, nervous, endocrine, respiratory, digestive, reproductive, and urinary disorders along with their causes and treatments.
CO4 - Compare and contrast benign and malignant tumors and explain the various cancer treatment options.
