PSY-2050 - Human Development Through the Lifespan* (B) (3)

Prerequisite: PSY-1010
From conception to death, this course provides an overview of the theoretical and empirical bases of human development across the lifespan. Topics include history, research methodology, theories of development, brain development, attachment, motor and language development, cultural and moral influences on development, death and dying, and other relevant topics.

CO1 - Analyze major developmental theories and concepts in order to evaluate how individuals develop from birth to death

CO2 - Describe the basic developmental patterns and typical developmental milestones reached in prenatal development, infancy, childhood, adolescence, early adulthood, middle adulthood, and late adulthood

CO3 - Analyze the influence of social and cultural variables (i.e., culture, race, gender, and socioeconomic class) on human development through the lifespan

CO4 - Explain the biological, cognitive, and socioemotional aspects of development and how they are interconnected through the lifespan
