SOC-1040 - Introduction to Human Resource Services (3)


Students survey historical and theoretical approaches to human services in the United States. They examine major public welfare programs and agencies that deal with the delivery of these services and the legislative efforts that created the present social welfare system.

List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections)
CO1 - Describe historical, social, and philosophical approaches and theories related to human social welfare policies and programs in the United States

CO2 - Identify the development of the social work profession and social work values and ethics

CO3 - Analyze the social forces that impact social and economic justice and the relationship of these social forces to the development of social welfare policies and programs

CO4 - Examine the trends and beliefs that may discriminate against populations from accessing entitlements, and benefits owed.
