ART-1225 - Figure Drawing* (3) Prerequisite: ART-1220 This studio art course will provide instruction in analyzing and drawing the human figure. Proportion, anatomy, volume and structure are investigated through various drawing media. Methodologies from historical movements, as well as contemporary trends, will be explored. Weekly readings, critiques, a working sketchbook, and a final portfolio review are required. Students work from a live nude model.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Apply elements and principles of design in all compositions.
CO2 - Complete value scales in high, medium and low contrasts in tonal drawings.
CO3 - Execute volumetric form between value and contour.
CO4 - Develop gesture and sustained figure drawings that demonstrate anatomy, scaling, and foreshortening.
