BAD-2740 - Retail Management* (3)

Prerequisite: BAD-1210  
This course introduces students to the business of retail by developing an understanding of the retail model and environment, various retail elements to include multi-channel retailing, customer behavior, and human resources. Retail operations are discussed regarding store and merchandise management. The course also develops students’ strategic skills in retail finance, pricing, marketing, and customer service.

List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections)
CO1 - Describe how the consumers’ decision process affects retailers.

CO2 - Develop a rudimentary retail strategy that appeals to a specific target
market, which includes: Location, layout/design, merchandising, pricing, and promotions.

CO3 - Develop a six-month merchandise plan.

CO4 - Understand how changes in operational variables (e.g., price, COGS, demand, expenses) affect profit.

CO5 - Describe how technology in retailing affects all channel members.
