MLT-1042 - Hematology* (3)

Prerequisite: MLT-1012 ; MLT-1012L ; BIO-1060 ; BIO-1060L  
Co-requisite: MLT-1042L  

Students learn the different stages and function of normal hematopoiesis and homeostasis.  The pathophysiology and detection of blood disorders, such as leukemia and anemias, are also discussed.  A passing grade of “C” is required in this course. Students must earn a minimum grade of C for all prerequisite(s)/co-requisite(s) to meet registration requirements.

List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections)
CO1 - Describe the stages and function of normal hematopoiesis and hemostasis.

CO2 - Describe the pathophysiology and detection of blood disorders such as leukemia and anemia.

CO3 - Evaluate common disease processes which affect coagulation laboratory findings.

CO4 - Discuss the role of Quality Assessment in hematology and coagulation laboratory analysis.
