MTH-2120 - Statistics with Applications (4) Prerequisite: MTH 1080 MTH 1100 or MTH 1105
In this course, students will be introduced to descriptive and inferential statistics. Students will learn about presentation of data, measures of central tendency and dispersion, the binomial and normal probability distributions, sampling techniques, correlation and regression, and hypothesis testing (Z test, T test, CHI squares). These topics will be addressed in light of their use in education, specifically for elementary and middle school teachers. Graphing calculators and computer software are used extensively throughout this course. Students will be required to do several group projects as part of the course.
