HST-1061 - History of African Americans to 1877 (3)

Students survey the central place of African Americans to the cultural, economic, political, and social developments in U.S. history from early African kingdoms to the Reconstruction Era. Primarily lecture based, the course incorporates multiple pedagigical methodologies including readings, collaborative exercises, videos, class discussions, and various evaluative measures. Students who have completed HST 1060 cannot receive credit for HST 1061.
