HST-1037 - Recent U.S. History: 1945-Present (3) Students will explore the American experience since 1945, studying major political, economic, social, and cultural movements from the end of World War II to the present. Students consider the emergence of the United States as a ”superpower,” and its expanding role in the world. Students will examine the impact of the Cold War at home and abroad; the emergence of movements for civic and political equality; and the evolving political, social and cultural landscape of the United States from the mid-twentieth century to the present.
