Accounting - Basic Certificate

This basic certificate option is intended to prepare students for entry-level positions as bookkeepers and accounting or payroll clerks. Upon completion of study, the graduate should be able to apply basic accounting principles to such tasks as extending, balancing, and checking ledger figures; assisting in cash and security counts; performing footings and extensions; and preparing accounts receivable confirmation. Experience in the use of automated accounting systems is included and students have a choice of electives in accounting or related subjects.

Courses in this certificate may be applied to the advanced accounting certificate and the associate degrees in accounting and business management.

This program may be completed online.

The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer from other institutions to this program is 13.
