No. of Credits: 9

Contact: Jean Russ, Chair, Science and Engineering Division;
Byron Brezina, Program Coordinator

This Letter of Recognition provides an education in the concepts and application of robotics technology.  It is designed for students with an interest in engineering, computer science, or engineering technology programs as well as professionals in these fields who wish to advance their understanding of robotics.

A total of 9 credits are required to complete the Letter of Recognition program.  The core courses in the program are designed to provide an introduction to the study of the robotics field as well as to ensure that students gain a firm understanding of the basic underlying principles.  The capstone course provides ample opportunities for students to apply what they have learned with hands-on learning activities using current robotics training equipment and working on real-world projects.

Professionals, including engineers, technicians, computer scientists, programmers, and teachers will gain valuable skills and knowledge to apply to their work with robotics projects.  This Letter of Recognition serves the need of these working professionals with an engineering background who do not wish to pursue the comprehensive 18 credit Robotics Certificate.

Technical professionals with either prior coursework or experience in DC electronics and programming logic may contact the division chair for prerequisite waivers for this program.

The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer from other institutions to this program is 6.
