This transfer option prepares the student for transfer into a business administration or technical management program to a four-year college or university. It is a broad-based program with a sound foundation in general education along with a core curriculum of management, accounting, economics, and information technology courses to help the student effectively lead and support others in technical specialty areas. Elective courses include a wide selection of technical subjects in engineering, engineering technology, electronics, information technology, manufacturing technology, mathematics, or physics that the student may choose from or may have already completed in previous studies. Blending technical knowledge with management skills affords the student more career advancement options.  This program is fully available online.

The Business Administration Associate of Science program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs. To assure maximum transferability of credits, students are urged to consult with an academic advisor early in this program of study.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Students will

1. Identify the theories and practices of business ethics and social responsibility.
2. Apply quantitative/qualitative skills to analyze and solve business problems and discover opportunities.
3. Communicate orally and in writing about business topics.

5. Understand globalization and value cultural diversity.
6. Demonstrate proficiencies in discipline specific areas identified as specializations.
7. Apply information technology and use information to support business processes and make decisions.

Required Courses and Recommended Sequence:


The following is a recommended sequence of courses for completing this program. College Prep and prerequisite course requirements, credit load, and/or course availability may affect a student’s individual progress. Course availability within the program sequences is specifically intended for full-time students who begin their course work with the fall semester. Students should always consult their online program evaluation or an academic advisor to better understand typical course availability and individual program planning.

Mathematics (3 credits)


Students must complete one of the following combinations to satisfy the Mathematics requirement for the degree:

MTH-1560 and MTH-1015 or

MTH-1200 and MTH-1015

Students may select either Calculus course or Statistics to take in the First Semester.

Social/behavioral sciences (3 credits)


Completion of this course meets the Social/behavioral and Cultural and Global Awareness requirements.

Acceptable:

  • See Gen Ed  Listing and select any Social Behavioral Science course from within the Cultural and Global Awareness course list.

Mathematics (3 credits)


Students must complete one of the following combinations to satisfy the Mathematics requirement for the degree:

MTH-1560 and MTH-2300

or

MTH-1200 and MTH-2300

Students may select the remaining Calculus or Statistics course in the Third Semester.
