The Information Services Technology certificate is a program designed to provide students with the essential technical and communication skills required for entry-level employment in the vast field of information technology (IT).  All of the courses in this program are applicable to the AAS degree in Information Services Technology.  Information services technology students take classes to prepare for the following in-demand entry level information technology industry certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, and CompTIA Network+.  Professionals with a strong IT background may contact the division chair about obtaining prerequisite waivers to take certain classes in this program. Students may be eligible to receive Credit for Prior Learning through Certification Evaluation for up to 9 credits with any of the following current certifications:  CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, and CompTIA Network+. Students should meet with an advisor to discuss Certification Evaluation, transfer evaluation, or options for transfer to 4-year colleges with this program. This program is fully available online. Additionally, many courses in this program are also available in lecture or web-hybrid format. The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer from other institutions to this program is 22.

Course availability within the program sequences is specifically intended for full-time students who begin their course work with the fall semester.
