This associate of arts transfer program is designed for part- and full-time students with academic and/or professional interest in media studies including journalism, public relations, and news media writing. Students are prepared for transfer to a four-year Maryland state college or university.

The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer from other institutions to this program is 45.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Students will

  1. Develop, organize and deliver an effective speech.
  2. Effectively write and edit for multi-platform media distribution.
  3. Demonstrate basic knowledge of legal and ethical issues in the media.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of fair reporting.
  5. Demonstrate understanding of the history and functions of print and electronic mass media.
