The Environmental Management program prepares students to transfer to a four-year institution in environmental management. In addition, it provides the academic background for promotion opportunities. The program prepares students through a combination of technical courses in environmental science and related areas and basic courses in English, mathematics, communication, and business areas. Students are exposed to various facets of environmental management ranging from regulatory compliance to sustainable development. The new paradigm of management and prevention is stressed in addition to control and remediation.

This program of study is part of an articulated partnership with University of Maryland University College (UMUC). Students successfully meeting the requirements of this associate’s program can transfer the necessary credits to UMUC and complete their Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management through courses offered in Southern Maryland and online.
