Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: My Catalog

No. of Credits: 24
Contact: R. Gates, Chair, Business and Technology Division; B. Brezina, Program Coordinator

This certificate blends theoretical knowledge and practical application providing graduates with the entry-level
skills needed to work in local manufacturing businesses. New technologies requiring a higher level of technical skills are regularly being introduced in the manufacturing industry.
Today’s workforce needs to understand the “system” of manufacturing as opposed to a function of a singular aspect of production.

Students demonstrate competency in product assembly, automation, and quality control. Required courses introduce students to manufacturing processes, computer-integrated manufacturing, and quality control. Through demonstrations, case studies, and lab exercises, students also gain experience in effectively planning sequential work operations.

Graduate job opportunities exist in many areas of the industry including lathe operator/production, milling machine operators, drill press operators, grinding machine operators, miscellaneous metalworking machine operators, or technician assistant.

The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer from other institutions to this program is 18.
