This program in the Arts and Humanities pathway is designed for full- and part-time students with an academic and/or professional interest in English. Students who complete the program typically go on to study at the four-year university in preparation for careers in law, journalism, teaching, writing, or public relations.

- Generate complex literary topics with a rhetorical purpose.
- Apply the grammar and mechanics of standard written English with complex syntax and college-level diction.
- Argue a reasonable position on a subject of literature or film.

- Demonstrate an understanding of the essential role of the human experience in literature or film.
