The Internet has brought about wide-scale changes in the ways business, communication, and media production interact. The evolution of mass communication as related to advances in broadband television, the Internet, and other converging technologies offers content artists, designers, storytellers and managers new avenues to express their ideas. The Digital Media Production program addresses the needs of corporate, television, e-business, and other media distribution outlets for existing markets, and prepares the student for the next generation of digital production and delivery. It enables students to create compelling and accessible media content to be delivered on CD, DVD, vidoetape, broadband Internet, or with other emerging distribution methods, and prepares them for successful employment.
New tools for content creation are continually rising on the digital landscape. Today’s content developer must be able to navigate this world with confidence. This Ditigal Media Production program will provide the student with the skills and organizatlonal thinking necessary for a safe, creative, and productive journey. Expanding digital markets have and will continue to present new challenges for the workforce. With this in mind, the Digital Media Production associate degree program will offer the student an ever-expanding curriculum to meet the needs of industry, while creating an environment conducive to helping students grow intellectually and creatively to meet the demands of tomorrow’s marketplace. In this program, students will learn to formulate, construct, and deliver digital audio, video, broadcast graphics, and animation. Media production industries need employees who have the talent for creative design, the ability to use new technology, and the skills to effectively present content. Graduates of the Digital Media Production program will apply the emerging digital production techniques to the changing world of media delivery and manipulation while maintaining high standards of artistic expression.
Graduates of this program will also be fully prepared to transfer to a four-year degree program.
