ITS-2555 - Digital Forensics I* (3) Prerequisite: ITS 2090 , RDG 0800 and ENG 0900 Co-requisite: ITS 1960
Students will navigate through each phase of the digital forensics analysis methodology using a practical and hands-on approach. Various open source and commercial digital forensic software packages will be used in conjunction with hardware based tools to support the process. Topics such as anti-forensics measures will be examined to demonstrate the impact they can have on an investigation. Students will also explore the various laws and regulations that guide the digital forensics process during both criminal and civil litigation. In addition, students will learn how to prepare policy documentation to build and maintain a successful digital forensics laboratory. For students who plan to use personal computers, this course may have specific computing requirements.
