BIO-2010 - Microbiology* (S) (3)

Prerequisite: BIO-1040 ; BIO-1040L ; or BIO-1060 ; BIO-1060L ; or BIO 2170  ; and MTH-0992  or higher
Students study the major groups of microorganisms their structure, metabolism, epidemiology and control of microbial growth. Immunology is strongly emphasized.  This course satisfies the General Education Biological Science requirement.

List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections)
CO1. Differentiate various components of microorganisms.

CO2. Evaluate the impact of infectious diseases and ways the human body and modern therapies combat these diseases.

CO3. Apply specialized language and knowledge relevant to microbiology.

CO4. Evaluate how the history of microbiology has influenced modern scientific laboratory techniques and the understanding of how microorganisms interact with humans.
