MUS-1310 - Keyboard Skills II (1) Prerequisite: MUS-1300 Co-requisite: MUS-1511
Students in MUS-1310 continue to develop keyboard skills and applications of their studies in music theory and ear training, from the Keyboard Skills I course. Topics include sight reading, transposition, improvisation, harmonization, scale fingerings, arpeggio fingerings, and simple score reading. It is recommended that students take this class while taking MUS-1511 and MUS-1511L. MUS-1300 is a pre-requisite.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Demonstrate music theory fundamentals and elements of musical language on the keyboard.
CO2 - Demonstrate sight reading of simple melodic and melodic/harmonic examples, chord progressions, lead sheet notation, and traditional notation.
CO3 - Demonstrate performance techniques such as correct fingering, hand/body position for all course elements.
CO4 - Demonstrate examples of improvisation, transposition of musical examples, and chord progressions.
