MTH-1130 - Trigonometry and Analytic Geometry* (M) (3) Prerequisite: MTH-1120 or qualifying score on mathematics placement exam Topics include circular functions, trigonometric ratios, right triangle trigonometry, analytic trigonometry, complex numbers, applications, polar coordinates, conic sections. This course satisfies the General Education Mathematics requirement.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Analyze and graph trigonometric functions, including transformations, periodicity, and amplitude, using both degree and radian measures.
CO2 - Solve right and oblique triangles using trigonometric ratios, the Law of Sines, and the Law of Cosines, and apply these methods to real-world problems.
CO3 - Evaluate inverse trigonometric functions and apply them to solve equations and model periodic phenomena.
CO4 - Use identities and formulas to simplify expressions and solve trigonometric equations.
CO5 - Apply concepts of analytic geometry, including conic sections and polar coordinates, to graph and analyze geometric relationships.
