MTH-2210 - Differential Equations* (4)

Prerequisite: MTH-1210  
Introduces ordinary differential equations with an emphasis on analytical and numerical techniques. Topics include first-order and higher-order equations, qualitative analysis, series solutions, Laplace transforms, systems of differential equations, mathematical modeling, and computer-based methods.

List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections)
CO1 - Use analytic methods to solve ordinary first order, higher order linear, and systems of differential equations.

CO2 - Solve systems of differential equations using matrix theory along with the eigenvalue problem.

CO3 - Apply the Laplace Transform to solve linear differential equations and initial value problems, including systems of equations and equations with discontinuous or impulsive forcing functions.

CO4 - Solve problems of rate, falling bodies, growth and decay, cooling, series and simple harmonic motion.

CO5 - Use computer software to analyze differential equations and their solutions.

CO6 - Apply numerical techniques such as Euler’s method and Runge-Kutta methods to approximate solutions of ordinary differential equations and interpret the results in applied contexts.
