MLT-1060L - Immunohematology Lab* (2) Prerequisite: MLT-1012 ; MLT-1012L ; BIO-1060 ; BIO-1060L Students learn and safely practice blood bank procedures including ABO, Rh-Hr typing and detection, identification of antibodies, antiglobulin testing, and compatibility testing. A passing grade of “C” is required in this course.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Identify ABO and Rh blood groups through the tube testing method.
CO2 - Detect alloantibodies through the use of the antibody screening method and panel testing.
CO3 - Perform serologic compatibility between donor and patient using the cross-match and special testing procedures.
CO4 - Discuss the significance and procedures of transfusion reaction and prenatal workups.
