HIM-2100 - Revenue Cycle Management Application* (4) Prerequisite: ENG-1010 (Minimum grade of C) Co-requisite: HIM-1150
Students will integrate coding and billing knowledge to manage the revenue cycle process. Students will apply skills for auditing records for correct coding and reporting. Students must earn a minimum grade of C for all prerequisite(s)/co-requisite(s) to meet registration requirements.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Describe the regulatory requirements and reimbursement methodologies related to the revenue cycle.
CO2 - Correctly code and assign DRG, groupings, diagnostic and procedural codes to complex encounters from ambulatory, inpatient and physician office settings.
CO3 - Evaluate the accuracy of diagnostic and procedural coding and its effects on the revenue cycle.
CO4 - Validate that the health information and record documents in various settings are compliant with laws, regulations, and policies.
