The Information Services Technology degree is a program designed to provide students with the technical and communication skills required for entry-level employment in the vast field of information technology (IT).  Students in this degree may take elective courses to deepen their knowledge and further develop their skills in areas of interest.

This program includes coursework that will help students to prepare for entry-level CompTIA certification exams in A+ and Network+.  With further study, students may also be prepared for certifications in Security+ and Linux+.

This program is fully available online. Additionally, many courses in this program are also available in lecture or web-hybrid format.

Students interested in transferring to a four-year college should meet with an advisor to discuss transfer opportunities with this degree.

The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer from other institutions to this program is 45.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Students will

1.  Demonstrate core information technology (IT) knowledge and skills in the following areas:
     a. client computing & user support
     b. database & information management
     c. networking
     d. servers, storage & virtualization
     e. security and information assurance
2. Read and interpret technical information, as well as listen effectively to, communicate orally with, and write clearly for a wide range of audiences.
3. Demonstrate an ability to exhibit professional and ethical behavior.
4. Function effectively as a member of a diverse team to accomplish common goals.
