ACC-2681 - Business Finance* (3) Prerequisite: ACC-2010 Students examine business finance in the American economy in order to solve practical financial problems and develop a sound understanding of the theories of finance. This course will be both theoretical in nature, and will require quantitative analysis. Topics include: forms of business, equity and credit capital, cost of capital, ratio analysis, cash flow, capital budgeting, financial leverage, risk-reward, and time-value-of-money.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Explain the role finance plays within organizations, markets, institutions, individuals, and the economy in general.
CO2 - Calculate various financial metrics in order to evaluate the financial health of an economy, organization, project, or financial instrument.
CO3 - Compute various risk measures in order to determine the optimal risk-reward scenario.
CO4 - Analyze capital budgets in order to evaluate projects and investments.
CO5 - Assess working capital needs, and long-term capital requirements with differing capital structures in order to make sound business decisions.
