CJS-1020 - Introduction to Security (3)


Students examine the organization and administration of security and loss prevention in industry, business, and government. This course emphasizes the protection of assets, personnel, and facilities and focuses on the relations between security organizations and government.

List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections)
CO1 - Students will apply basic security concepts identifying legal and policy issues related to security requirements within government, industry, and business.

CO2 - Students will propose, plan, and implement security programs and features that provide protection and countermeasures against the threat of terrorism.

CO3 - Students will investigate and plan countermeasures against employee theft and vandalism.

CO4 - Students will be able to identify the role of civil security in contrast to civil police authority and their roles and responsibilities.
