CNT-1020 - Construction Specifications and Estimating (3) This course introduces students to construction estimation and the impact that materials, methods, manpower, and business practices have on the cost of a project. Students consider preliminary, detailed, and quantifiable estimating as practiced in the industry and apply basic estimating principles to construction projects. Students learn the estimator’s role in construction as well as gain a working understanding of bidding and competition. The basic principles of specification development and their role within legal and technical documents are explored. Construction site safety is emphasized throughout the course.
