COM-1020 - Introduction to Mass Communication* (B) (3) Prerequisite: College-level reading and writing placement or complete one of the following: IRW-0900A or IRW-0900B This course focuses on the history and functions of the major print and electronic mass media. Students examine the ways in which consumers use media, the effects of those media on consumers, the ways in which audiences and media influence each other, and the relationship between media and society. This course satisfies the General Education Social/Behavioral Science requirement.
