BAD-1015 - Introduction to Business* (3) Prerequisite: College-level reading and writing placement or complete one of the following: IRW-0900A or IRW-0900B This Introduction to Business course develops students’ understanding of business fundamentals using both theory and real-world case studies and examples. Key topics include the role of business, the global economic and legal environment, ethics, marketing, accounting and finance, and managing processes and operations. BAD-1015 replaces ECN-1015 and BAD-1010. Students who have taken ECN-1015 or BAD-1010 may not take BAD-1015 for credit.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Discuss the major functions of business including Management, Accounting/Finance, Marketing, Investments, and Information Technology.
CO2 - Contrast the advantages and disadvantages of the various forms of business organization.
CO3 - Explain why ethical behavior and social responsibility are important to businesses.
CO4 - Explain the basic management functions including how managers motivate employees.
CO5 - Synthesize the information in the text and the knowledge gained through analysis of current events to write various reports.
