GRY-1300 - Maps and Mapping* (B) (3) Co-requisite: College-level reading placement or complete one of the following: IRW-0900A or IRW-0900B
Students receive an introduction to maps, map interpretation, and computer mapping. They study the various types of maps, including computer maps, and general application of maps in geography to develop skills in map reading, environmental analysis and interpretation. This course satisfies the General Education Social/Behavioral Science requirement.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Describe basic science of mapping the earth.
CO2 - Identify structure and special considerations needed to create and prepare spatial data.
CO3 - Use technologies of Geographic Information Systems to organize and interpret spatial data.
