HST-1034 - History of Women in America* (H, C) (3) Prerequisite: College-level reading placement or complete one of the following: IRW-0900A or IRW-0900B Students examine how changing social, legal, and economic factors have affected women in America. In developing perspectives on the role of women in American history since 1600, students study issues of race, class, and region. Students who have completed HST-2020 cannot receive credit for HST-1034.

CO4 - Analyze the evolution of the legal status of women in the United States.
CO5 - Identify movements and individuals who have contributed to changing women’s status in American history.
CO6 - Describe the diversity and commonality of the experiences of American women across racial, class, ethnic, religious, and regional boundaries.
CO7 - Analyze contemporary issues of women’s equality and autonomy in the context of earlier constructions of women’s roles in American society.
