Students continue their music study developing more advanced principles from MUS-1501 , including common tone chord progressions and modulations, advanced figured bass, melodic harmonization and analysis of diatonic and chromatic harmonies.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Create musical examples in a diatonic idiom with a variety of chord progressions.
CO2 - Apply Roman numeral analysis to musical examples that feature diatonic use of seventh chords.
CO3 - Create an analysis of a piece of music with an emphasis on diatonic progressions.
CO4 - Realize figured bass examples with diatonic triads and seventh chords.
CO5 - Apply the principles of good voice leading and counterpoint to the harmonic concepts listed above.
CO6 - Utilize the above concepts by creating a short composition.
