THE-2410 - Major Movements in Western Theater (A) (3) Students will explore the movement and development of Western theater through a variety of periods from Sophocles to Beckett, identifying the special contributions of each and establishing their impact on the stage of today. This course satisfies the General Education Arts requirement.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Describe the development of theatre in Europe and the United States, from the 5th century BCE to the middle of the 20th century.
CO2 - Explain how social, cultural, economic, and political events have affected dramatic literature and theatre performance.
CO3 - Identify theatre practices through the ages as manifested in performance spaces, acting styles, design elements, and personnel.
CO4 - Analyze how contemporary theatre/film/television is connected to theatre of the past.
CO5 - Create polished performances informed by the theatre practices of a given era.
