DFT-1380 - 3D CAD with SolidWorks II* (3) Prerequisite: DFT-1370 or permission of chair Students will learn advanced techniques of Solid Modeling using SolidWorks 3D CAD software. Topics to be covered include: advanced drawing, surface modeling, and assembly modeling, advanced part modeling, creating simple animations and photorealistic renderings, and simulations. Students will learn how to use advanced dimensioning on drawing sheets, create section views, and use basic geometric tolerance techniques. A Final Project is included in this course to allow students to bring all the skills together in a prototype model or a rendered image to be printed on a 3-D printer.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Use Solidworks to create and edit multi-body parts.
CO2 - Use equations to create features in part modeling.
CO3 - Design sheet metal parts utilizing forming tools and top-down design.
CO4 - Create and edit 3D sketches.
CO5 - Use advanced surfacing and mold tools to design parts for production.Course Fee: $30
