HIM-2100 - Revenue Cycle Management Application* (4) Prerequisite: ENG-1010 Co-requisite: HIM-1150
Students will integrate coding and billing knowledge to manage the revenue cycle process. Students will apply skills for auditing records for correct coding and reporting.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Describe the regulatory requirements and reimbursement methodologies related to the revenue cycle.
CO2 - Correctly code and assign DRG, groupings, diagnostic and procedural codes to complex encounters from ambulatory, inpatient and physician office settings.
CO3 - Evaluate the accuracy of diagnostic and procedural coding and its effects on the revenue cycle.
CO4 - Validate that the health information and record documents in various settings are compliant with laws, regulations, and policies.
