HEA-1010 - Foundations of Public Health* (3) Prerequisite: College-level reading placement or complete one of the following: IRW-0900A or IRW-0900B This course provides an overview of the goals, functions, and methods of public health. Students learn that decisions regarding public health should be based on data and that these decisions should consider the intervention impact on all stakeholders. Public health provides a broader awareness of community challenges including social and physical environmental factors impacting the medical paradigm and the need for community collaboration for public health work.

CO2 - Determine how the social, political, and economic factors impact health and contribute to population health and inequities.
CO3 - Discuss the environmental, biological, and genetic factors that contribute to population health.
