Computing Essentials Letter of Recognition

The Computing Essentials Letter of Recognition is a program designed to provide students with the essential technical and skills required to prepare for entry-level employment in an information technology (IT) specialist field.  Information services technology students take classes to prepare for the following in-demand entry level information technology industry certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, and CompTIA Network+.

Professionals with a strong IT background may contact the division chair about obtaining prerequisite waivers to take certain classes in this program. Students may be eligible to receive Credit for Prior Learning through Certification Evaluation for up to 6 credits with any of the following current certifications:  CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, and CompTIA Network+.  

This program is fully available online.  

The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer from other institutions to this program is 6.
