This course sequence introduces students to Data Science. Students develop an initial understanding of the mathematical, computational and analytics elements of the field of Data Science.
These courses may be applied to a Data Science Certificate and an Associate of Science degree in Data Science.
The coursework in this program prepares students for these industry professional certifications:
- PCEP - Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer
- PCAP - Certified Associate in Python Programming
The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer from other institutions to this program is 6.

- Store, process and retrieve data in diverse formats for analysis.
- Produce and interpret numerical summaries and data visualizations to explore insights from analysis.
- Establish a foundation in modeling diverse datasets to describe and test relationships among variables.
- Develop foundational proficiency with computer programming code to model data for experiment and analysis.
- Discuss ethical and moral issues impacting society in the field of data science.
