ART-1300 - Graphic Design I* (3) Prerequisite: ART-1200 Students are introduced to basic principles of graphic design as applied to print media, including the basic theory and techniques of visual communication using computers. Important applications include Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as page layout software.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Use programs from the Adobe Creative Suite, CC& 6 to build digital files and manage digital data workflow.
CO2 - Design compositions that display an understanding of two-dimensional design concepts.
CO3 - Create digital slideshows and paper prints for use in evaluating technical control, formal composition, and aesthetic quality.
CO4 - Demonstrate ability to look at and critique design compositions by evaluating technical, compositional, and conceptual concerns.
CO5 - Create projects that are an example of the technical knowledge gained through the reading, lectures, and assignments in this class.
