CHE-2210 - Organic Chemistry II* (S) (3)

Prerequisite: CHE-2200 ; CHE-2200L
This course continues to develop the principles and processes presented in CHE 2200  including nucleophilic substitution, nucleophilic addition, and carbanion chemistry.  This course satisfies the General Education Physical Science requirement.

List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections)
CO1 - Use terminology and symbolism particular to organic chemistry.

CO2 - Use IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) nomenclature to name compounds from select classes of organic molecules.

CO3 - Draw correct structural representations of organic molecules.

CO4 - Describe the relationship between molecular structure and chemical reactivity of organic molecules using various models.

CO5 - Apply thermodynamic, kinetic, steric, electronic and stereochemical principles to the analysis of reaction mechanisms.

CO6 - Solve multi-step synthesis problems, using the non-mathematical logic characteristic of organic chemistry.
