TED-2102 - Materials for Teaching Literacy* (3) Prerequisite: EDU-1085 This course is designed to assist teacher candidates and in-service teachers in selecting and evaluating materials for teaching reading, writing and related skills. Participants will explore characteristics of effective literacy programming and instruction, use evidenced-based criteria to select and organize print and multimedia resources for teaching reading and writing to all children, learn how to use a variety of print and multimedia resources to engage students as readers and writers, and examine how best to provide culturally responsive literacy instruction that promotes all students’ cultural competence through inclusive and equitable literacy learning opportunities. EDU-2102 is now TED-2102.
