GEO-1010L - Physical Geology Lab* (S) (1) Co-requisite: GEO-1010
Students are introduced to the basic materials and tools of physical geology in a laboratory setting. Familiarity with rocks and minerals and the use of maps in geologic investigations are stressed. This course satisfies the General Education Physical Science requirement.
List Course Outcomes (consistent for all sections) CO1 - Demonstrate a fundamental knowledge about the surface and interior of the Earth.
CO2 - Identify specimens of the minerals and rocks found on earth and their origin.
CO3 - Use the language and nomenclature of physical geology to described processes, and samples
CO4 - Apply a general knowledge relating to geologic hazards.
CO5 - Articulate a familiarity with the concept of plate tectonics.
CO6 - Read and use topographic information.
